Testimonials:“Rachelle has an amazing natural talent, like nothing I've seen before. She's able to capture her subjects with amazing accuracy and an incredible attention to detail, and more importantly with a great sensitivity to personality and spirit. The individual quirks and attitudes of her subjects shine through brightly in every piece, making her portraits much more than just simple renderings.“

Service Features
FeaturesThe method I use for the portraiture of mine is somewhat different to the conventional. I paint (with a Wacom tablet and paintbrush nib) digitally, from scratch - of course!

In my works I try to put as much detail as possible. This is probably due to some compulsive disorder! I tend to work in at around 400-500x zoom, fussing over the wee hair here or there, or the mark somewhere else. Sometimes, there can be up to three hundred layers!!

I can do styles other than photorealism, however.

Once I'm done, the artwork is printed (the method is different to regular printing) with acrylic inks onto a lisa 390gms 100 year canvas over the course of several days. Thereafter its lacquered and UV protected. Finally I apply additional texture with a matte sculpture gel and paintbrush, just to add a little more.

Portraits can take anything from two to three weeks, although some are faster depending on how busy it is.

  1. I am the proud owner of Rachelle's first horse painting. Can be summed up in one word - amazing. I can find all my horse's little characteristics on it and he looks alive, with sparkle and expression in his eye.
